Oylmpics is indeed a grand sports event for any country organizing it..it definitely boost the economy of that particular country and make that country known to everyone. As when people think of olympics, many people will remember the grin of pride on the atheletes face when they managed to clinch a medal for their country. although olympics is a grand event, not many people can actuallly witness it.
I personally feel that several events should be air on tv, especially the track and field events. Although several track events are short , there's no yardstick to measure the amount of hardwork put in by the atheletes. Ironically , some atheletes may spent the whole of their life training , trying to improve their personnal timing by a few split seconds . Furthermore, determination and perseverence could be seen from all participants. Some of them may lag by the others by alot , but they insist to finish the whole race . This not only shows their high level of sportsmanship , but also to tell themselves that they had put in their best and had nothing to regret. Their expressions and satisfaction cannot be simply put into words, but those could be shown on their faces. This not only moltivates the others who are training hard to train even harder.
However , most of the people feel that track and field events are boring and dull. U can't compare track and field with soccer, where everii minute is that exciting and anticipating. Thus , i feel that more international track and field events should be held . Just like the world cup, tat introduce the sport soccer to many of the youngsters today.
